Scratch A Troofer....

Actually that one's getting a little old. At any rate, a candidate running for what appears to be the equivalent of a town councilman, has attracted attention for his unconventional views on the Holocaust:

Ken Meyercord has an Ivy League education, a high-tech job at Freddie Mac, a local public-access cable television show on international affairs and a long history of writing about what he says are "myths" of the Holocaust, including a piece called "(Holo-) History is Bunk."

"Survivor accounts of the cremation process gives new meaning to the word 'tragicomic,' " he wrote in the article. "To hear eyewitnesses tell it, it took little more than a match for the corpses to spontaneously combust."

Matches, haha. Meyercord posts online information about upcoming episodes. Like these, from February:

In Montgomery County, Maryland on MCT (cable channel 21) at 11:30 AM on Wednesdays. The episodes for February are:

2/4 Land of the Settlers - "Mr. Israeli TV" takes a look at the settler movement
2/11 Empire in the Andes – American involvement in the civil war in Colombia
2/18 9/11 Revisited – a physics professor’s skeptical look at the official story
2/25 Venezuela Rising – the referendum to recall President Hugo Chavez

Hmmm, 9-11 Revisited, a physics professor... that wouldn't happen to be Professor Steven Earl Jones, would it? Yep.

Meyercord has broadcast David Ray Grifter:

David Ray Griffin on 9/11 (USA, 2006) – a theologian suffers doubts on the 9/11 story dogma
5/08 - 3:30 PM; 10/07 - 6 PM; 10/12 - noon; 10/15 - 10 PM; 10/19 - 1 PM; 10/26 - 4 PM

He's also an aspiring song parodist; check out these lyrics to America, the Doodyful:

Oh, Doody-full for inept spies,
For Ashcroft and the rest,
For purple prose and lies oft told
'Bout phantom terrorists.

He's also got the usual politics of a crank; he's interested these meetup groups:

Badminton, Ron Paul Campaigns, Dennis Kucinich, Ralph Nader

Paul, Kucinich and Nader, the trifecta.

One oddity; note this statement in the Washington Post piece:

Meyercord, 65, said he and his wife, Samira, 64, have lived in Reston since 1977. Their two children attended Reston schools. His candidate biography online notes that he has coached soccer, baseball and basketball, and served as a board member and treasurer of the Northgate Square Cluster Association in the 1980s. He founded the Reston Badminton Club this year.

But as I was googling his name, I kept hitting up against a guy named Ken Meyercord who lived in Pleasant Hill, California in the early 2000s. For example in this Amazon review. The book that the Pleasant Hill Meyercord is reviewing is called Beyond Growth: The Economics of Sustainable Development. At his Amazon page, Meyercord says:

Hi! My name is Ken Meyercord. I am the founder of Zero Growth, an organization dedicated to promoting the ethos of zero growth.

The Reston Meyercord has a page on OpEd News, which notes:

Ken Meyercord is the author of "The Ethic of Zero Growth: a New Ethos for the New Millennium". He lives in the Washington, DC area.

And yes, we can see this is the same guy by looking at his posts over there:

(Holo-)History Is Bunk
(4 comments) An introduction to the taboo topic of holocaust revisionism, aka denial, concluding with a rationale and a plea for open debate on the subject.

However, OpEd News did not listen to his plea and that article was deleted. So it certainly appears that the Pleasant Hill, California Ken Meyercord and the Reston, Virginia Ken Meyercord are one and the same, and he's lying about his continuous residency in Reston.

Hat tip: Consdemo (in the comments).
